The advancement, application and acceptance of personalized medicine is
imperative to meet the challenges in the 21st century’s diverse
healthcare needs. Your DNA, the ‘code of all codes,’ is the key to
“Proactive P4 Medicine (predictive, preventive, personalized and
participatory).” This is not science fiction, it is science fact.

Dr. Lee Hood has been revolutionizing research on the human genome for
more than a decade. He will be speaking about how healthcare has failed
to realize that medicine stands of the edge of a transformational
revolution—it will move from being largely reactive, increasingly
expensive and often ineffective to being proactive, far more effective
and eventually significantly less expensive. This medicine will have
four features—it will be predictive, personalized, preventive and
participatory (P4 medicine).

A pillar in the biotechnology field, Dr. Hood has played a role in
founding more than 14 biotechnology companies. Dr. Hood is one of only
10 people, world-wide, to belong to the National Academy of Sciences,
the National Academy of Engineering and the Institute of Medicine.

This short and informative talk is not to be missed. There will also be
a Q&A session after the talk followed by light refreshments. This event
is free of charge but seating is limited so early registration is
recommended.
