From PhD to Strategic Management Consulting
You are invited to an info session about Management Consulting as an attractive field post-PhD! Management Consultants apply critical-thinking skills to solve complex problems faced by businesses, from Banks and Mining companies to Biotech, Pharma and Health Care. They identify issues, form hypotheses, conduct analyses, formulate recommendations, and discuss them with the client’s management. Sounds familiar?
Many PhD graduates choose consulting because they find they can apply their problem-solving skills in new ways, work within stimulating team settings, and make measurable impact more quickly and more often. Transitioning from PhD life into a career in management consulting can be challenging and isolating.
In this info session you will learn about management consulting as a career and the job hunting process from speakers who have successfully transition from PhD to the field.
We will also talk about the Canadian Graduate Management Consulting Association, and how to get involved with the emerging community of UBC graduate students interested in a career in management consulting.
Come join us at the Diamond Lecture Family Theater at the BC Cancer Research Centre (10th and Heather) on February 15th at 5:45pm.
