This is kind of last minute, but just in case you didn’t know yet and you want to travel for conferences in the summer, there’s a cool conference happening in Orlando in July. https://www.iscb.org/ismb2016 The early poster submission deadline is tomorrow. After that you’d have to pay $50.
This conference is one of the biggest bioinformatics conferences. The submission doesn’t ask for a paper. You just need an abstract and a poster. Since most of us already have made a poster for this Friday, why not give this a try?
