Delayed SSC Award payments‏

Dear Graduate Program staff,

Due to some system issues, the SSC award payments (such as International Tuition Award, GSI, department recommended awards and so on) that were supposed to pay out to student’s SSC account on 3 January 2015 have yet to go through. The following is for your information so that you have the answers when asked by your worrying students.

Re: Delayed SSC Award payments

Please note that there has been a delay in the processing of Student Service Centre (SSC) award instalments scheduled to pay out in early January 2015. We expect the issue to be resolved shortly. In the meantime:

(i) students who have pending SSC award payments that will cover some, but not all, of their outstanding fees for the January to April 2015 term should pay the difference by the 7 January 2015 fee due date

Example:

Total outstanding fees due 7 January: $3,200

Total pending award payments for January: $2,500

Student should pay difference: $700

(ii) students can rest assured that any late charges that are assessed due to outstanding fees that should have been covered by January award payments (as opposed to fees that were the student’s responsibility) will be reversed. Should this situation arise, graduate students should contact marija.zimonja@ubc.ca (include student number in email) to have their late charges reversed.

Please let me you if you have any questions.

Wishing you all a great year of 2015!

Greats,

Joanne
